EMMI introduces another facilitation: expiring specialist recommendations are valid for 90 days after the end of the emergency

Similar to the successful spring control, in order to protect the health of the Hungarian population, reduce the number of further serious and fatal diseases and ensure that all Hungarian citizens receive the highest possible standard of health care during the epidemic, the government decided to specialist recommendations expiring during the emergency period remain valid for 90 days after the end of the emergency.

 

 

The expiration date of medical aids expiring during an emergency, as well as the redemption period for prescriptions, will continue to be extended until the 30th day after the end of the emergency. The GP will record in the medical file if the specialist’s recommendation has been temporarily extended due to the emergency.


In the first wave of the epidemic, the Ministry of Human Resources made it possible for patients to receive health care and prescribe their e-prescriptions by remote consultation without the risk of infection. The facilitated rules for prescribing, according to which the pharmacy also dispenses the medicine on the basis of an oral prescription from the TAJ, recording the recipient’s details, have helped a lot to ensure that medicines are dispensed to patients comfortably and safely during the epidemic. During the emergency, the decision was made to maintain this form of care based on positive feedback from both healthcare providers and patients. With this decision, we will ensure, even in the current difficult period,
